The story ‘Elmer’ was written and illustrated by David McKee. After looking at getting into contact with Mr. Mckee to no avail, I went ahead in creating a snippet of my own illustrated version for my University work.
Due to my aspirations towards getting into publishing and the research done for my dissertation subject, ‘Print VS EBooks’, I wanted to create a small portion of a children’s book to show my versatility within the subject area and wanted to apply what I’d learnt during the writing of my dissertation into my future work. It also shows a new path in which the story could take for future generations.
I was able to create a working section of this display through flash and also applied it within InDesign to look at the different restrictions, to enable an educated opinion as to which would work best overall on something like an iPad.
